As an independent pub, we regularly host new guest beers on tap. Below is a selection of our current beers we have on draught.

Rothaus Pils 5.1%

We have gone all out and are now stocking Rothaus Pils. It’s delicious, coming in at 5.1% ABV. Made with the purest, softest spring water from protected sources in the beautiful Black Forest mountain region of South West Germany, the best aromatic hops from Tettnang and Hallertau as well as local summer barley malt. A strong, clean, tangy beer finely balanced with a distinctive hop aroma. German beer at its best.

Kicking Goat Cider

A distinctly styled Somerset craft cider that expertly blends 17 freshly pressed cider apple varieties. Naturally sweetened, deliciously balanced, a celebration of both sophistication and simplicity. Kicking Goat is an artisan, boujee cider to bleat about.

Loose Cannon – Abingdon Bridge 4.1%

The first and arguably the most popular of Loose Cannon’s beers. ‘Bridge’ as it’s affectionately known always brings a smile to the face of its drinker with that delicious floral and slightly sweet finish. Copper coloured, traditional ‘bitter’. It kicks off with a good bitter bite, followed by plenty of flavour. A full and satisfying roundness.

Wine Tasting

Wine Tasting  Sunday 15th February 7-10pm During the evening, we will have a selection of seven wonderful wines from our specialist wine merchant, Welch & Co. Canapés will be provided throughout the evening and the ticket price includes a bottle of your favourite wine. £50 per ticket - limited spaces available. A £10 non refundable deposit is required to secure your place.

Oktoberfest 2024

Oktoberfest 2024 Friday 4th - Saturday 5th October Hold on to your lederhosen as our Oktoberfest is back, bigger and better. A whole pub takeover which means a full German menu, and five different delicious German beers on tap and in steins. Live music, lederhosen, dirnol! Kicking off midday on Friday October 4th - Saturday 5th October.

Christmas Wreath Workshop 2025

Christmas Wreath Workshop – Saturday 6th December 9.30am-11.30am Join us at The Chester Arms to create your own festive wreath. Working on a moss base you will create your own wreath in your own style from a mix of festive foliage and a fun selection of ingredients to decorate your wreath – cones, twigs, berries, and a touch of sparkle – finished off with a ribbon to complement your design. Refreshments will be served upon arrival. £65.00 per ticket.
